Tables are 6 feet long by 30 inches wide.
All tables come with a black tablecloth and two folding chairs. You’re welcome to bring your own table cloth if you wish, but remember the size specified above.
Each table comes with two badges which grants general admission to the wearers. If you are sharing a table, that means one badge for you, and one badge for the second vendor.
As each table only comes with two badges, any additional persons must purchase a weekend pass to be allowed onto the floor during show hours.
Kids 12 and under are free. 13 and over, they need to get a weekend pass.
There’s approximately three feet of space behind each table.
No. Each vendor is expected to remain within the space that they are allotted per their table purchase. If you require more space than specified above, you can purchase two tables.
Yes, but please be a good neighbor and remain within your assigned space. Please check with the floor manager, Jake Lerner, before hanging anything on the walls. Typically, command strips are okay, but clear it with Jake first.
While we make every effort to accommodate requests for placement, there are no guarantees. This is especially true for multiple authors who have multiple projects, anthologies, co-author books, and so on. We understand the need to be placed next to each other, but sometimes there’s just not enough space. We encourage you to tell your customers that these other authors are also vending at the event and will sign their books (if said authors have agreed to do that).
We generally allow vendors to check in and begin setting up on Thursday, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Set up then continues Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until show opening.
No. After doing four previous events, we have discovered that there are multiple changes with our vendors that occur up to the final minutes before the show opens. Due to this fluidity, no floor plan is posted.
While we understand that not everyone gets along, one thing we won’t do is ban people without good reason, personal knowledge, or - most importantly - verifiable evidence. Having a disagreement with someone does not constitute a ban. If you believe that any incident should be brought to the attention of the show management, please do so. However, if there’s someone at the show that you don’t like, simply walking by without interacting with them is an option. At management’s discretion, any individual creating unnecessary problems or issues at the event will be expelled without a refund.
One thing you can do is request not to be placed near Author “X” in the vendors room or included on any panels with someone you don’t wish to be in proximity with. We will handle these requests discreetly.
Unfortunately, we do not have the personnel to sit at tables while the vendor is away. Fortunately, though, the vendor community is very tight. Simply asking your neighbor to keep an eye on your stuff, and covering your items with a cloth or flipping up the front of the tablecloth over your items also works. As always, your money box or bag should always go with you.
Weekend passes are available online at our ticket site or can be purchased at show registration. Links can be found on their respective event pages on our website.
While events like the film fest, readings, and panels are usually free with admission, special seminars, such as the Murder Mystery or Dakota Lawrence’s Gallery event, and some classes DO require an extra ticket purchase. Please be sure to check our ticketing website for further information.
No. Some events are be 18+. All 18+ events are denoted as such on the respective event listing. We reserve the right to deny admission to anyone under 18 to these events, even if they have a ticket.
Our vendors get top priority in doing readings and/or seminars. A form will be mailed out to all vendors to gauge interest before the event. If you have purchased the table and are sharing, we ask that you also share this form with your table partner. Once all the information is collected, the readings and seminars will be posted with dates and times.
No refunds will be issued. We encourage people who can no longer attend to offer their table to another author. This can either be done by yourself, or else Scares That Care will promote the open table for you. Getting paid for the table by the author replacing you is your responsibility—Scares That Care will not be involved in any such transaction.
Yes. Second floor, with signs that will direct you to the location of our “quiet room.”
There are some questions even WE can’t answer…
