About Us
“Scares That Care!” is a not-for-profit organization that provides money, toys and other items to help sick children.
Led by horror film director and retired police officer Joe Ripple, this benefit will utilize the fan base of the horror, haunt and Halloween genres to raise funds and awareness for sick children in need. We plan to have a GREAT time holding benefits, by showing films, having silent auctions and maybe getting lucky enough to have a few celebrity appearances along the way. Our success depends upon YOU.
Last year our goal was to raise a minimum of $10,000.00 for the Johns Hopkins Children’s Cancer Center which we succeeded in doing! Thank You All who donated!
Now, The FIGHT Continues! For 2009 we are raising money for the kids at the Kennedy Krieger Institute!

The Kennedy Krieger Institute is a children’s treatment center that helps children with Down Syndrome, Autism, Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries, and other forms of illness. When I told them about the huge outpouring of support from Horror Fans, they were ECSTATIC to hear that “Scares That Care!” wanted to collect for them! As always, we have a letter of support, and a contact name and phone number, to verify that we are legitimately collecting money on their behalf!
